Application Materials

We require official secondary school transcripts from grade nine to date (i.e., the last four years of study), as well as a copy of the results of any national or school-leaving examinations taken or certificates obtained (e.g., HKCEE, IGCSE, SPM), and the results of any International Baccalaureate examinations taken to date. Transcripts should include an interpretation of the grading system and a clear designation of Honors and Advanced Placement courses. A transcript of any college work taken while in high school must also be submitted.

The minimum required TOEFL score is 100 (Internet-based total). The TOEFL code for Scripps College is #4693. The minimum required IELTS score is 7. Please keep in mind, we do not accept self-reported test scores for the TOEFL (Test of English as a Second Language) or IELTS (International English Language Testing System).

If your first language is English or the language of instruction at your school is English, you may be eligible for a waiver of the TOEFL/IELTS requirement. After you have submitted your application, email applicants@spintermet.com with your name, birthdate, the name of your school, and how many years you have been in an English-language classroom environment.

The International Student Certification of Finances is required of all international students. You can either print and mail the completed form to the Office of Admission, scan and email it to applicants@spintermet.com, or upload it in your applicant status portal

正规365体育投注All documents written in a foreign language must be accompanied by a notarized English translation. We require both documents; they must be signed in ink by the appropriate official of the applicant’s school and must have the institution’s seal.

Early Decision Applications

正规365体育投注Early Decision is an excellent option for students who know that Scripps is their top-choice college. Early Decision is a binding process that provides an early application review and notification of admission decision. Applicants who are admitted Early Decision I or II must withdraw their application(s) to other colleges and enroll at Scripps.

Scholarships

正规365体育投注International first-year applicants are eligible for scholarships ranging from $15,000 to $28,000 annually, and the highest award is the James E. Scripps Scholarship. Scholarships are awarded to applicants whose strong academic performance and school or community involvement indicate that they will add vitality and intellectual value to our campus. Scripps does not require an earlier deadline for scholarship consideration. Merit scholarships are only available to first-year applicants.

Need-based Financial Aid for International Students

正规365体育投注Financial assistance for international applicants is limited. Financial aid for international students is only awarded at the time of admission. Your aid offer will be renewed each year for up to 8 semesters as long as you enroll full time and make Satisfactory Academic Progress toward your degree. Financial aid is not re-evaluated for international students. Since your EFC is fixed upon admission, your financial aid award in future years will adjust slightly with the change in cost of attendance. The CSS/Financial Aid PROFILE is required for international students who wish to be considered for financial aid.
